Acrylic painting with 3-D effect: bird sand instead of expensive textured paste

To all who like to make acrylic paintings: Instead of buying expensive texture paste for beautiful 3-D effects, you can easily Use bird sand: just mix under the color of bird sand and apply. How much you need, you notice immediately when mixing. I did that in a cure and the pictures last for years.

mailu36: Hello to all Acrylmalfreunde,
I experiment with different materials. Above all, I can recommend aluminum foil: the silver shimmers through and gives great effects. Otherwise, I have achieved with towel paper and thinned wood glue or textured paper many exciting effects, tissue paper also looks good. Simply tear in stiffeners, crumple or skilfully drape each other. Prime white, but use well opaque white.
For sand you can use bird sand, but also all other natural grains. Glass stones, shells, etc. can also be glued with Moltofill and then painted. Then you should better use thin wood instead of canvas as a substrate. Have fun experimenting! mailu36
