Bohemian dumplings without yeast
ingredients
- 1kg of flour
- 1P. baking powder
- 3 stale bread rolls
- 2 - 3 eggs
- Milk (by feeling, about 1l)
- salt
preparation
- Mix the flour with the baking powder, then make a deepening into the flour and put the cubed rolls in it, if they are too hard, soak them in something before.
- Now put the eggs in, add salt and make a normal dough with the addition of milk. Knead until the dough is dry (= detached from the bowl) and form into 4 pastry rolls.
- Let these rolls rest a little, then cook for about 10 minutes, turn over and boil for another 10 minutes.
- Then use a kitchen stick to do the "cake sample", if still moist inside, if necessary cook longer.
- Now take the rolls out of the cooking water - CAUTION: Fragile! - and slice with a twisting thread.
Other dumpling slices can be warmed up again in a potato damper (substitute sieve over water pot). Or you make fried dumplings with it.
