Buchmaus: Make a nice decoration out of old books

Now and then it happens that I have books that are no longer read. Throwing books away is a bit reluctant, so I was thrilled when I came up with that idea in the kindergarten I work in and made it up right away.

You only need a book, some color cardboard, craft glue or a glue stick and possibly a pair of eyes (available in craft supplies) but you can of course also make from color cardboard itself.

Looking for the middle of the book, the pages are only folded, not glued. The folding technique is best explained by the pictures and is actually quite simple.

Always fold the upper corner of the page inwards, then fold the page you are working on inward again ... etc.

Sufficient pages have to be folded to get the right volume (depending on the size of the book).

Then actually only nose (just a circle), cut whiskers and ears (preferably in drop form) and stick as well as the eyes.

And the book mouse is ready.

In my opinion, a pretty decoration for the bookcase, or for the nursery.
