Burnt semolina soup
Time
Total preparation time: 15 min.
If it is to be something that should be cheap and fast & tasty.
ingredients
- 2 heaped tablespoons of margarine (or butter)
- 6 tbsp durum wheat semolina
- 1 L of water
- Salt (at discretion)
- 2 soup cubes (finished product) for half a liter of water each
- some grated nutmeg
preparation
- Melt margarine / butter in a saucepan.
- Sprinkle the semolina into the pot.
- While stirring, stir the semolina in the hot fat until it smells pleasantly and turns very light brown to brown. You could also say that you roast the semolina.
- Now remove the pot from the hob and deglaze with the water.
- Add salt and the soup cubes.
- Bring to a boil and simmer slowly for about 5 minutes.
- If the soup is still too thin, maybe add some semolina and boil again. If it is already too thick, add some more water and salt.
- Season with nutmeg (who has it on the stomach, do not use nutmeg).
- You can also add a whisked egg to your taste and / or chives.
- Serve this soup immediately, as the semolina still overflows and then the soup becomes a mush.
