Co2 Mosquito Trap
In a few weeks it will be (again) really warm and the little tormentors will be after us again. Since the animals are attracted by the carbon dioxide of our breath, one can take advantage of this knowledge and build the following mosquito trap:
You need:
- 1.5 L PET bottle
- warm water
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Yeast (cube or dry yeast)
- some newsprint
?This is how it's done:
- Just head the bottle about 10 cm down the neck.
- Mix the warm water with the sugar and yeast.
- Then put the cut off upper part of the bottle upside down there and wrap the whole thing with newspaper (leave it at the top, of course).
- The beasts are truly attracted to the resulting carbon dioxide and have no chance to get out there again.
- Renew every 1-2 weeks.
