Decorative curtain gather
For thin curtain scarves, which I tie together for deco or space reasons (shirring), I thought up the following:
I twist the color-matching cords, for example, from old jogging pants, jackets, hood cords, etc., into new, thick cords, drape them around the curtain, and fasten the cords with clips on wall hooks behind the curtains.
Some people might still be familiar with the idea of "twisting the cord" from handwork lessons?
Self-sewn gadins may still have some fabric left - of which even thin stripes can be screwed in (previously zigzag stitches).
For thicker fabrics with over curtains (for which you need longer cords) I get cotton yarn, which is folded together until the desired cord size is reached. Always look, if there are special offers of it (possibly market traders) and "create stock". The next curtain will definitely come ...
