Fight moths

Since no comprehensive advice has yet been given on how to combat moths, here are some tips we have used successfully:

Moths lay innumerable eggs in wool textiles: folds, umgenhte carpet edges and gladly in hidden places. Also in dusty wicker etc. and other natural materials.

We had a "moth invasion" that we have successfully fought over the past 8-10 weeks. Rooms with 5 large wool carpets, many Moroccan cushions. Clothing was also infested, felt hats, puppets, a wool teddy bear ... We had to throw away a few things.

moth control

If moths are visible somewhere, if possible immediately spray thumb or fingers on it or insecticide! Move slowly, otherwise they will fall before. Walls can be cleaned afterwards with damp kitchen paper.

Brush affected parts with a root brush, vacuum rugs on both sides, brush (carpet brush suction - we have a Kirby), heat each spot for at least 3 minutes with a steam appliance to about 70 degrees (also destroys moth eggs and larvae - we have taken an AIO device) , freeze (minus 20 degrees, at least 7 days), spray and rub with Neemöl emulsifier-water mixture (kill mites and larvae):

Place infected parts in the sun, ventilate them, put moth paper (also under wool carpets and in pillows), moth glue traps for clothes moths, but put them away when windows are opened, as they also attract moths. I only set them up in the summer at night.

moths Do not like soap and perfume, lavender, cedar wood, as you know (put in the cupboards, suitcases, perfume on a cloth and in the closet).

I recommend everyone to do something immediately, because if you already have moths in clothing or in carpets, etc., you can not get rid of them without taking action. They multiply rapidly.

Moth paper is cheap at dm and Schlecker, was recently on Aldi in the offer.
