For colds: Japanese herbal oil & ascending foot bath

at coldIn the evening, just before going to bed, place both feet in a correspondingly large bath / bowl of warm water. This type of foot bath is called "ascending" because the temperature of the water is increased every 2 minutes:

Start with lukewarm water into which a few drops of Japanese medicinal vegetable oil (peppermint oil) are added. The essential oils contained in them penetrate the skin through the skin and spread their stimulating effect there. In addition to the tub / bowl for the foot bath I put at the beginning boiling hot water "in stock". After two minutes, (the water in the tub / bowl is already cooled slowly), add hot water and increase the temperature. Bath again for two minutes, then add hot water again ... Perform this procedure for a total of 10 minutes, until the feet are fairly red and wonderfully well supplied with blood. Then dry your feet with a towel lying ready and immediately into bed ... wonderful: The feet are warm, the whole body feels like massaged and the peppermint oil unfolds its full effect in a warm bed! In the morning you are like newborn!
