Freeze fried mushrooms / mushrooms to save space
Who is grateful for every inch of space in the freezer, should follow this tip:
I like to buy my weekly supply of vegetables on Saturday evening, just before shots.
Among other things, then usually white and brown mushrooms are reduced by half and I can not resist to pack them in the basket, because I very often "mushrooms" mushrooms.
But since raw mushrooms take up a lot of space in the freezer, I fry them in slices, sometimes with onions, sometimes pure and without spices.
The amount is reduced by more than half and what would have been a bulging freezing bag before, is now only a flat bag, which takes up little space in the freezer.
I do not have a problem with thawed mushrooms or further processing: taste and consistency do not suffer. Vitamins are not really that important to me in this case.
Mostly I use the mushrooms after thawing for a hearty goulash or for an omelette and they are then thoroughly roasted again.
Every bargain hunter and / or garden owner who fights for the smallest free space in the freezer should give it a try!
