Homemade lemonade powder

If you like experimenting in the kitchen, you may feel like making this extract for home-made lemonade.

Ingredients:

  • 12 lemons with edible peel
  • Fine table sugar, about 500 g, maybe a little more - lemons are different in size.
  • Paper cups, a muffin form.

That is how it goes:

  1. You fill a bowl with 100 g of the sugar.
  2. From 6 lemons rub the peel on this sugar.
  3. Then you squeeze the juice from the 12 lemons and pour it over the rubbed off.
  4. Mix so much sugar under the citrus liquid until you get a thick porridge.
  5. The porridge is heated in a saucepan with constant stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  6. You put out a muffin dish with paper cups, pour the hot sugar mass into it. These are allowed to dry for a few days. Depending on the weather it takes 3 - 5 days.
  7. Then you squeeze the lemon sugar mass from the molds and can crush them either in a mortar with pestle or in the mixer to powder.
  8. This powder comes in a screw jar. If you want a glass of lemonade, dissolve 1 - 2 teaspoons of it in a glass of water.

Tastes very good, no chemistry - and inexpensive!
