Juicing quinces in the Thermomix - making quince jelly

Making quinces in Thermomix 5 - making quince juice with quince jelly.

ingredients

  • about 1000 g of quince
  • 1 L of water
  • possibly Rumaroma, vanilla flavor
  • Gelierzucker, 500 g 2: 1

equipment

  • 1 large cutting board
  • 1 big sharp knife
  • Haarsieb
  • screw-cap
  • funnel
  • dishcloth

preparation

  1. Cut the brushed quince with a large sharp knife into pieces and place in the Thermomix. Pour 1 liter of water and cook at speed 1, 35 minutes.
  2. Then squeeze the juice with the cooking basket, which gives about 750 quince juice, which can still filter through a hair sieve, ideal for quince jelly, which you can spice up with rum flavor, vanilla flavor, etc. The quince have a pleasant smell. And the jelly tastes great.
  3. Incidentally, if you do not have a Thermomix, you can also put the quince in a saucepan, add up to 1000 g and add a liter of water, then cook the quince until soft and press down with a metal strainer you get about 750 quince juice.
  4. Pour the quince juice into another saucepan and bring to the boil with sugar, 500 grams 2: 1 until the juice gels. Make gelling sample and then fill in jars, seal and turn upside down, overnight, until it is not so hot anymore. For screwing and holding the glasses, a tea towel is recommended, otherwise you burn your fingers and take to fill a funnel.

Quince jelly is really great and you can also make cakes and cookies. I think it smells and tastes great. Unfortunately, no picture at hand.
