Keep food cool while traveling

I like to travel, mostly by car. Often I bring home food that should be transported chilled. A collapsible cooler bag is always in my car, but often it is not enough to pack the chilled food when you buy only in the cooler.

The z. For example, I would like to eat yellow sausage from Bavaria or the meat from Schwäbisch-Hällische Schwein from BW after several hours' drive to the Ruhr area on hot days. When you're on the road, you have few opportunities to "recharge" cold packs, so that they disappear as a cold reserve.

My tip: Open supermarkets can be found almost everywhere, some petrol stations are even open around the clock. There are bags of ice cubes to buy in the summer (crushed ice is less suitable). Put them in a tight box (or in a plastic bag), and you have the cold reserve in the cooler! If necessary, a delicate food can be transported even several summer days, if you renew the bag with the ice cubes as needed.

As there is sometimes a lack of space in coolers, I remind you of my tip some time ago (but you need a freezer to do that): freeze juice tetra packs and use them as a cold battery!

I wish all of you a nice summer!
