How to store sewing machine needles sorted:
Since I sew with many different materials and, accordingly, use these custom sewing machine needles, I stick a few of each grade and thickness onto a matching piece of cloth and label accordingly (see photos).
The pieces of fabric are stapled on a thick cardboard and are at the top of my sewing utensils: I see at any time, when I need to buy which type of needle and in what strength, because they break off - not infrequently like the weekend.
