Kugelis Lithuanian potato cake

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 kg of floury potatoes
  • 300 g bacon cube egg
  • 2 large onions
  • 300 ml of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt, pepper and nutmeg

Preparation:

Fry the bacon, with very little oil. Fry the onions as well. Add the milk and bring to the boil. Finely grate the potatoes and drain off any water. Add the eggs. Mix the bacon, onions and the potato mixture into a dough, season. Put into a well greased casserole, smooth.

Bake well at 180 ° C for one hour. With salad a wonderful meal. In Lithuania, you can still eat sour cream!
