Lentils with spaetzle and strings (Swabian)

Here is a really delicious and simple Swabian recipe. I know it does not look very appetizing, but it tastes all the better :)
ingredients
- 250 g of lenses
- 3/4 l of water
- 3 teaspoons broth or vegetable broth
- 1 onion
- olive oil
- 100 g of tomato paste
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 carnation
- salt
- pepper
- vinegar
- 1-2 string sausages / Viennese per person
Who likes can still add smoked belly.
preparation
- Wash the lenses well
- Cut the onion into small pieces
- Heat some olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the onions
- Who makes it with smoked belly, cut it into small cubes and sauté
- Add the tomato paste and sauté briefly
- Dissolve the meat or vegetable broth in the water
- Douse the onion and tomato paste mixture with the vegetable stock
- Add bay leaves and clove
- Season with salt and pepper
- Add the lentils and cook according to the packaging instructions

- Just before the end, add the strings to the lentils to heat them up
- When the lentils are ready, taste everything again and possibly season
