Lye cookies have become dry? Great remainder utilization

It happens to a single that a triple pack of lye biscuits, as it is often offered in supermarkets, can not be eaten fresh (I do not live in typical lye pretzel areas, where you get them individually at the bakery).

So far, I have frozen the remaining parts and baked again when needed. With normal rolls that works well, with salt sprinkled lye pastry, the result is rather moderate, because rubbery.

So now I let the lye pastry get really dry, keep it in a cloth bag airy and rub me from it as needed crumbs for breading schnitzel, chop, and meatballs. The taste really nice and spicy, especially the crumbs are fresh, and you can choose the breadcrumbs by choosing the grater.
