Quark dumplings with nut crumbs and plum roaster

Unfortunately, my husband has diabetes (not much but) and loves desserts. Now I have thought of a recipe in which the sugar substitute (in our case stevia) is not so much tasted because of the other spices. Even the other? Bad? Ingredients stick in the frame.

Ingredients (depending on size for 6 or 12 dumplings)

Quark dumplings:


  • 250 g Qimiq
  • 500 g of low-fat quark
  • 2 whole eggs (Hurray, you do not need to prepare egg whites)
  • 80 g wheat semolina
  • 80 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Walnut crumbs:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons of grated walnuts
  • 1 tbsp stevia

Plums:

  • 1 kg plums or prunes
  • 125 ml of water
  • 1 tbsp stevia
  • Juice of a lemon
  • 5 cm cinnamon bark
  • 3 cloves

preparation

  1. For the dumplings: Mix the Qimic until smooth, add the pans, eggs, semolina, bread crumbs, salt and the grated lemon zest and mix well. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  2. In the meantime you can join the plums turn to stone the plums or prunes and cut into four or six columns depending on the size. Boil the water with the spices and add the fruit.
  3. Leave these fruits on a low flame for about 45 minutes with the lid closed, until the fruit is almost mushy. Pieces should still be available.
  4. In the meantime, the dough has rested and you probably had time to boil salt water in a large pot?
  5. From the dough are now 6 -12 dumplings (in very small dumplings, there may also be 18 pieces) rolled and placed in the boiling salt water. Let it boil gently. It depends on whether you like a sweet main course (a bound vegetable soup would be recommended) or a dessert from it.
  6. Cooking the? Big? Dumplings take 20-25 minutes, with the smaller ones you have to reduce the cooking time accordingly.
  7. Now simmer the dumplings and you can get the walnut crumbs Dedicate the butter in a large pan, add crumbs of nuts and stevia and roast until golden brown with stirring. Careful, it could burn if you're not careful !!
  8. The boiled dumplings are now skimmed off and rolled in the nut crumbs and sprinkled with some stevia before serving (with the hot or cold plum roaster).

I realize that there is still enough carbohydrate = sugar in this dish, and I do not want to trigger any discussion with my recipe!
