Remove rust from the metal with vinegar
For me, it happens just at Christmas time, that after baking cookies, the shapes just throw in water and forget ... and see there RUST.
Here is my tip: just put the molds in vinegar for at least 24 hours, then most of the rust has dissolved by itself and you just need to rinse again with a cloth or even better with an old toothbrush and the molds are already shiny again. Works even with still battered molds, as this is also solved.
You can also take vinegar for all other metals!
