Replacement for missing drawer to build at the dining table
For years I was angry that my dining table has no drawer. Constantly I had to get up, because I like needed a pen, a sticky note, salt, maggi, a tempo handkerchief or just a small spoon while eating. Now I finally found a way to build an adequate replacement for a drawer.
Below my table there are cross braces, which I could take as a holder.
- At one of these cross struts I screwed a perforated plate (galvanized). Gibts in the hardware store for pennies.
- As a drawer replacement I served a square plastic box without a lid, I still had these at home. What suits you best, you will surely know best.
- On this plastic box, I stuck a magnetic plate (available on the Internet or in the well-stocked craft retail, DIN A4 just under 7 EUR).
- If I need something out of my drawer, I just reach under the table and bring out the box. Works well, has been proven for two years now.
