rhubarb porridge

Recently a delicious recipe for rhubarb compote was presented here. We also like to eat rhubarb porridge.

ingredients

  • 1 kg of rhubarb in pieces
  • about 400 g of sugar
  • about 100 ml of water
  • 1 pck. Custard powder
  • a little water for mixing

preparation

  1. The rhubarb pieces I leave with the sugar for a few hours, so that juice can form. Then add about 100 ml of water and let cook for about 10 minutes until the rhubarb has softened.
  2. Now I add the pudding powder, which I have stirred smoothly in a little cold water. While stirring, I let the mass boil again until it looks a bit glassy. This is the sign that the custard powder has dissolved.
  3. Now the porridge is ready! You may have to be sweetened, which is up to your own taste.

To the groats we eat simple milk. But a custard also tastes very good.
