Something hot for cold days: Potato and carrot pot with beef

Dice 500g of beef - I'll take beef goulash and cut it smaller - and fry vigorously. Add one (or two - depending on your taste) diced onion and 200 g of diced mixed smoked bacon, sauté briefly and pour in 1 1/2 l of broth. Simmer for about an hour until the beef is tender. Meanwhile peel potatoes and carrots and cut into cubes or slices. Put the vegetables in the pan and cook. Season with salt - salt carefully, the bacon is already salty -, season the pepper, marjoram, cumin and thyme.

You can also cook white cabbage or leek or zucchini etc. - depending on your taste and season, the imagination knows no bounds. This fits a strong farmhouse bread.

P.S. Even my kids like this stew - although none of them have anything to eat with vegetables!
