Recently, for health reasons, I stopped taking dairy products. Sojajoghurt is a good alternative, but not very cheap.

As I have just tried it, I have found that you can easily make soy yoghurt as well as natural yoghurt from milk.

This is how it's done

  1. One liter of soy milk (soy drink) is heated, e.g. by dm, under 1 Euro, in a small pot and then let it cool down so that it has the right temperature. These can be found out without further aids with the finger test. If you can hold your finger in the milk for 10 seconds until it gets too hot, then you have the right temperature.
  2. Then add about 2-3 tablespoons of a purchased soy yogurt natural and stir with the whisk.
  3. Put the pot overnight (about 8 hours or more) in one or two blankets and leave it in a warm room (slightly heated in winter). I like to put the pot on a mitelwarme heater and pack a few towels around it. In the morning the yoghurt is ready.
  4. For the next soy gourd you can then take 2-3 spoons of home-made. If the soy gourd is too thin, you should buy another cup again. Of course you can also take 2 L and then stir 4-5 EL Starter.
  5. After making, I stir the soy yogurt with a whisk creamy and fill it in old, clean 500 ml yogurt cups, which have a reusable plastic lid, then he comes in the fridge.
  6. If you want to make it during the day, you can put the pot wrapped in a blanket under the coverlet. But then please think about the nap, that there is something under the blanket!
