Avoid water or rust spots on granite tiles outdoors
On our (covered) terrace I have next to the door a small shelf for our garden shoes. They are in the lower area and as an eye catcher are herbs and a box of succulents.
In order to protect the wood from humidity, I put two granite slabs, which were left over from a renovation, on top. However, from time to time the mishap happened to me that irrigation water dripped onto the tiles, leaked during casting or that metal pots left rust stains.
This problem I have eliminated with crystal clear thick film that gives it as a yard in furniture stores or Turkish stores cheap to buy. I adapted the foil with a cutter to fit the shelf. It is not noticeable that foil lies on the tiles.
