Cake with tomato soup

An American friend sent this recipe.

It sounds strange, but it tastes good, fruity.

To measure the ingredients you take a normal coffee cup.


You need:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bag of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup of milk

half a cup of almonds and raisins, flours, who wants. And here we come: 1 small tin of tomato soup. The very simple variant please, so no soup with meatballs, vegetables or pasta.

For the decorative cover:

  • 300 g Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1 whipped egg whites
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • Pinch of salt

You need a springform pan, a mixing bowl, a blender, spoon and baking paper - oh yes, I almost forgot the can opener.

In the bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then add the eggs and margarine, as well as the milk. This is stirred with the mixer for 2 minutes, then slowly added the tomato soup, stir once more for 2 minutes.


Finally, the almonds and raisins are carefully lifted. You can also do without who does not want to chew on cake food.

A Springform is laid out with baking paper, also a strip on the side, then the cake dissolves without problems.

Now he comes in the oven and is baked at 200 degrees for about 40 minutes.


After 35 minutes you can poke a toothpick in the middle. If you pull it completely clean, without crumbs, out again, the cake is ready. If there is some more dough left, continue baking.

After cooling, you can make a delicious coating of 300 g of Philadelphia cheese with 1 cup powdered sugar and a beaten egg whites, so the snow mixed together. First beat the egg whites and fold in at the end!

Spread the mixture on the cake and chill.

You will find out that he does not like tomato soup at all, more like a spice cake, a little after Christmas.
