Clean glass flower water dispensers

In the spring, when the balcony, garden and terrace are brought to a shine, my glass water dispensers / plant plugs are at the top of the cleaning list:

Over the summer, these practical and useful flower pots become quite dirty, especially if - as seen in photo 4 - new life has settled in it; o))

  • As soon as you put the water dispensers into the flower pot, soil collects in the glass tube and it must first be loosened before cleaning.
  • This works best with a long wooden skewer (shashlik skewer, knitting needle, etc.), which gently loosens the soil and pushes it upwards. It's easier to get under water.
  • Once you have pushed the soil into the upper area, you fill in water and start flooding out. This procedure takes a little longer, because new water has to be refilled again and again before the entire earth has been flushed out. Constant shaking is helpful.
  • If the upper container, usually a ball, is reasonably freed from the earth, put in each water dispenser a lye of dishwashing powder for the dishwasher and boiling water, place the objects upside down in a bowl, so that the lye can work well.
  • Has not solved after about 2-3 hours, any dirt, you make yourself from a knitting needle / a shish kebab and cotton wool a large ear buds and cleans the stem and as you go into it, the upper part. Rotating movements are helpful.

Then rinse with plenty of clear water and the water dispensers shine in new splendor and look neat again.
