Coloring eggs with tights

I know from my family a nice way to color eggs with slightly older children.

For this one needs: many small leaves and blades of grass from the garden (fresh, not dried) and a few worn out fine tights, as well as a kitchen string; and of course a lot of eggs to be dyed (it works with blown eggs, but then you have to work very carefully).

Depending on which type of color (cold or warm) you choose, make the preparations specified there. The most beautiful is dyeing, as described here several times with natural dyes such as beetroot, turmeric, onions, etc.

But now to the actual design: The legs of the old pantyhose are cut off, the toe is removed and made a firm knot. After about 10 cm make a knot again and cut off just below the knot, until you have as many pieces of hose with a knot as you want to dye eggs.

In each tube part comes now an egg with the flat side to the knot. Between egg and pantyhose you now lay the grasses and herbs and leaves on the egg so that they only decorate it. With the deposit so the body should be covered before the dyeing water.

Then the trick is tied up with a kitchen string. Here it is advisable to work in pairs, because you can stretch the pantyhose enough while the knot is made so that the ornament rests firmly on the egg.

Dye now, carefully cut the tights again, remove eggs, remove leaves ...

... and behold ... a completely different kind of Easter egg!
