The cookie season has started! Homebaked tastes always best. It does not always have to be elaborate creations. Simple butter cookies are often underestimated. With the right recipe and a loving adornment, they decorate every plate. The Ausstecherle can also be great with children prepare. The little ones can let their creativity run free and will have a lot of fun baking.

ingredients

for 3 sheets (about 50 biscuits)

  • 250 g flour
  • 75 g of sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 190 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

preparation

All ingredients are kneaded together well. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Wrap the dough in cling film and place in the fridge overnight.

Do not roll out the dough too thin. With different shapes, the Christmas cookies can now be made out.

ornament

  • 2 yolks (delicious coconut macaroons can be made with the leftover protein)
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • Colorful sprinkles

For the decoration, mix two egg yolks with 2 tablespoons of cream and coat the cookies with them. Now they can be decorated with colorful sprinkles. So you can give your reindeer biscuits faces and decorate your Christmas tree biscuits with colorful balls. I also dyed one-third of the yolk-and-cream mixture with red food and used it to paint my Christmas boots. There are no limits to the imagination!

The Christmas biscuits will be baked at 175 degrees for about 10 minutes, They are ready when they take on a golden brown color and can simply be moved back and forth on the plate with the spatula.

After cooling, they are placed in a tin box for storage and stored cool (eg in the cellar). So they stay nice and soft and last a long time.

Have fun baking!
