Gingerbread hearts with chocolate icing

These are the second favorite places of my son, after the shortbread cookies of course.

ingredients

  • 500 g of honey
  • 250 g of sugar
  • 250 g butter
  • 100 g lard
  • 1000 g of flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 125 g of cocoa
  • 200 g of ground almonds
  • 50 g of ground hazelnuts
  • 1 packet of Neunerleigewürz (from Hayma, there is, for example, Edeka - who does not get, takes Christmas spices at will)
  • 1 1/2 pack Hayma-Kraft (I also found in Edeka - baking soda would have to work the same way)
  • Chocolate couverture dark

preparation

Dissolve honey, sugar, butter and lard in mild heat and leave to cool. Then add the other ingredients and knead well. Do not roll out the dough too thinly, make it about 1/2 cm thick and then cut out the cookies. Do not bake too dark, depending on the oven. Decorate the cookies with chocolate couverture or dip half in it.

Being a big amount of cookies, that's why I always do half of it. The gingerbreads can be baked soon, the better they "pull through" the better.
