Grow new rose from withered cut rose

Blooming roses do not necessarily end up in organic waste. The rose stem can be planted with the help of a potato. The result is then with much luck and depending on the quality of the cut rose a new rose.

To remove cuttings from a withered cut rose, the flowering is cut off about 2-3 cm below. The lower part of the stem is cut obliquely. Use a knife or chestnut drill to drill a hole in a fresh potato. Just drill to the middle and insert the rose stem. Plant the potato with the stalk in a pot or in the garden. If possible, more than 15 cm of soil should be above the potato and it must not have any seedlings yet. Otherwise it may be that you breed a potato instead of a rose.

Finally, cut off the bottom of a PET bottle, unscrew the lid and put the bottle over the rose.
