First the original recipe of 1884:
To prepare quite red crab butter, break boiled crabs out of the bowls, nudge them finely in a mortar, mix them with half as much butter as peel, place them in a casserole for not too strong a fire, where to place them for about half an hour stewed and protected by frequent stirring before burning. Now pour boiling water on the skins, let it cook for a short time and then pour it through a sieve into a deep bowl. After cooling, the butter is taken from the water, melted together and stored.

However, there are nowadays also ready to buy ready-made crab extract, with which one can prepare cancer butter as directed.
