preparation

  1. Take a can of sweetened condensed milk (such as a milkmaid) and remove the paper banderole.
  2. Then bring a pot of water to a boil. First check that the can has enough space, it must be completely covered with water.
  3. When the water boils, just put the tin in the pan and cook for about 2.5 hours. Check again and again if there is still enough water in the pot, if necessary fill with hot water.
  4. When the cooking time is over, fish the can out of the water and allow to cool.
  5. The result is a golden brown cream, which is very sweet, but also incredibly delicious and tastes of cream caramel sweets. The longer the cooking time, the darker and tougher the cream becomes.
  6. Tastes like a spread, but it can also be stirred into natural yoghurt or cottage cheese.
  7. It can be used as a basis for cake or cake fillings, the imagination and the individual taste there are no limits.
  8. Alternatively, the cream can also be prepared in the pressure cooker, the cooking time is then less than half an hour.
  9. Sometimes you get the sweetened condensed milk only in tubes, then simply decant into a twist-off glass and cook as described above.
