External hard drives on laptops

For a long time I mainly work on the laptop. In doing so, I also often deal with external storage media. Since I rarely sit at a table that was always a bit tricky. One wrong move and the plate slips down.

Neither the vibration nor the jerking and possibly pulling out the cable are good. So someday I came up with the idea to fix it somehow. For this I have used self-adhesive velcro. Two stiffeners on the back of the laptop and two strips of the counterpart on the external panels. Here are two things to keep in mind:

  1. That the position on the laptop is such that the data cable is enough
  2. That the ventilation remains free on the external media

Since then I have no more crashes in this regard!
