Food and cinnamon oil for mosquito larvae in the rain barrel

You collect your rainwater in a large bin and have a mosquito larvae problem?

Today I googled what you can do about it and tested the following: A good shot of cooking oil and a few drops of cinnamon oil. At noon I poured and dripped both in the bin and now in the evening, almost all are already dead! The cinnamon oil acts like a nerve poison on the larvae, the edible oil reduces the surface tension. Because of your plants you do not have to worry, they do not mind the oil, so you can water your plants as usual.
