Hot Chocolate Raspberry Meringue Dessert

You can use stale bread rolls very versatile, but packed so delicious, as in this hot dessert, they are barely recognizable: A hot pudding with crispy meringue, which tastes very chocolaty and that from ingredients from the pantry.

For the chocolate layer:


  • 2 stale rolls (alternatively about 100 g breadcrumbs)
  • 50 g baking cocoa or dark chocolate in small pieces
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 500 ml of boiling water
  • 2 egg yolks

For the raspberry layer:

  • 2-3 tablespoons raspberry jam or a handful of fresh / frozen raspberries

For the meringue layer:

  • 2 egg whites
  • 100 g of sugar

preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees.
  2. Roughly dice the stale rolls and place in a bowl.
  3. Add the cocoa, vanilla sugar, sugar and butter.
  4. Pour over the boiling water and stir.
  5. Soak for a few minutes.
  6. Then with the blender everything well shredded and mix. (if necessary add more sugar to taste)
  7. Separate the eggs and stir two egg yolks under the chocolate mixture
  8. Put the mixture in a casserole dish and place in the oven for 15 minutes.
  9. Beat egg white with 100 g sugar until stiff.
  10. Remove the baking dish from the oven.
  11. Distribute raspberries or raspberry jam on top.
  12. Add eggshell over the raspberries.
  13. Put in the oven for another 30 minutes.

Serve the dessert hot. Enough for 4-6 persons.

Tip: If you want a crispy meringue layer, you should choose a bowl that is as flat as possible. If you want a foamy eggshell, choose a bowl with a smaller surface.
