Make a towing leash / long leash for dogs
Since April 1st, here in Nds is again anleinpflicht for the dogs announced, because when the feather-bearing flying animals look into their calendars, you know: NOW we can start again without fear and provide for offspring!
As a responsible, animal-loving and also not punished wanting dog owner, we take our 4-Beiner at least until 15 July on a leash. But since he would like to sniff, he / she enjoys every inch more leash.
Since we 2-Beiner but not like a flag behind the - more or less well behaved - dog to be pulled, we take a towline. Of course, these are also available to buy, but if you have a slightly larger dog specimen and need to have a suitable leash, it will very quickly become very expensive (about 50 Euro).
Here is my tip for quickly and inexpensively making a 15-20 m long line yourself:
Buy 3-4 straps (price € 2.49) and simply cut off the locks (but do not throw them away, they can still be used in other ways!).
I have taken quite light straps, so they are also visible in the dark or snow in winter.
Now simply sew together the pieces of belt, if available with the sewing machine, while doing so sew several times over the joint. (Who sews by hand, uses best Sternchengarn, stops well under load).
If you want, make small loops shortly after these places, and sew a ring (such as for keys) & a small snap hook (each in a 3-pack for 1 €), so you can divide the line something, but it works without too.
Finally, a loop for our hand at one end and a (carabiner) hook for the dog collar to the other end and done.
So the dog is leashed and can still sniff in peace and we can b. B. quickly approach us. Even our foresters agree with this type of leash.
Nevertheless, the belt is of course also to use for fixing cargo.
If the line is dirty when sanded on the floor, it will be put into the washing machine or hand basin with some detergent, to dry on the line, ready.
Of course you can also use this leash before the 1st of April and after the 15th of July;), but a warning to all women: Our men might come up with the idea to use this leash in shoe shops or similar ...
