Making marzipan potatoes

Marzipan potatoes are very easy to make yourself. I did it this time only with bought Marzipanrohmasse (went faster), but who likes to make marzipan itself, here is the recipe for it.

ingredients

  • 250 g whole almonds
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • 30 g amaretto or rose water
  • 1/2 vial of bitter almond flavor

preparation

  1. The almonds are doused with boiling water and soaked for about 5 minutes.
  2. Then the skin of the almonds is peeled off and all well dried with kitchen paper.
  3. Add almonds to a blender and grind very finely, then the mass should be slightly greasy.
  4. Knead the powdered sugar with the aroma and the rose water well and add the almond mass and knead again.
  5. The mass gives about 550 g and must be stored in a cool box in the refrigerator.

So I make the potato

  1. Always make a small amount of raw mass into balls by hand.
  2. Either you fill cocoa in a small bowl to turn, or you do it like me and dab with your finger first in the cocoa and then around the potato. This has the advantage that less cocoa sticks, but who likes more cocoa over it, who can calmly turn in the bowl. The balls should also be stored airtight in the refrigerator.
