Open the lid of the glass slightly without damage

To easily open the lid of a jar without damage, place the jar briefly upside down (with the lid down) on the cooker until the lid is hot. Then unscrew the lid with a potholder.

This trick acts like a miracle and everything stays healthy. The effect is twofold: By heating, the negative pressure in the glass is reduced (this is otherwise achieved by Aufpiksen) and on the other dissolves the glued jam or food film in the glass lid edge area.

Instead of placing the glass directly on the stove, you can do it all in a pan filled with a little water, which was my first successful attempt and is certainly gentler.
