Orange Dessert

With temperatures that are really summery at the moment, you do not like eating so much: everything is too much, too warm and heavy in the stomach. But a delicious dessert - sometimes just for in between - is always possible. Something is done quickly, needs a little rest, but it just tastes delicious!

So I made a fine orange dessert with fresh juice and crème fraîche and my family enjoyed it very much. Just give it a try, I'm sure you'll like it, too.

Ingredients for 2 servings

  • 1 big organic orange
  • 2 sheets of gelatine
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g of creme fraiche

preparation

First, I soak the gelatin in cold water and set it aside. I wash the orange thoroughly and then rub the peel over the sugar. So the aroma can move well into the sugar. Then I press the orange well, so I have about 100 ml of juice. If the juice from the fruit is not sufficient, you can add some orange juice from the pack or squeeze out a second fruit.

The juice is then heated together with the orange sugar and the vanilla extract until the sugar has completely dissolved. When this is done, the expressed gelatin is added. The mixture is now best transferred to a metal bowl and stirred quickly cold in an ice-water bath.

Then the crème fraîche is added spoonfulwise to the orange mixture and stirred well, so that everything mixes well with each other.

Now the cream can be filled in portion glasses and allowed to cool and gel in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. For eating, the bowls are still nicely decorated with orange fillets and a few mint leaves.

Let it taste good!
