The bestseller on our BBQ is my special potato salad, which also arrives very well on the cold buffet and does not necessarily need meat. Also, just as dinner, he is well received and makes you full.

For four very generous portions of potato salad, I expect one kilo of potatoes, which are cooked and peeled as usual. Allow the potatoes to cool well. In the meantime, dice three peppers. Dice 400 to 500 g (or more) of roast meat, cooked ham, meat sausage or Leberkäs.

Mix a glass of silver onions or chopped mixed pickles (picking up the liquid) and some sliced ​​gherkins with the sliced ​​potatoes and the remaining ingredients. Make a marinade out of half mayo, half yoghurt, vinegar, the broth of the silver onions or the mixed pickles, some sugar or honey, mustard, salt and pepper, depending on your taste also chili and / or ketchup. Taste and mix everything. Let it run for at least one hour. If necessary, add cucumber sauce.

Note: a potato salad must "smack"!

Of course, the whole works well with bought so-called "meat salad". However, this is of inferior quality, too fatty and you will not find meat in it either. Homemade it is guaranteed to taste much better!
