Zwetschgenmichl is a wonderful warm dessert that even children like to eat.

ingredients

  • 160 g of sugar
  • 150 g semolina
  • 120 g of butter
  • 500 g quark (for the light version: lean quark)
  • 500 g of pitted plums
  • 250 ml of cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 shot of rum (can be omitted)
  • 1/2 pck of baking powder
  • grated lemon peel

preparation

  1. First, the plums, if they are not yet gutted. We do not want to find any (hefty) surprise later in the casserole.
  2. Beat the egg whites until it is really stiff and does not fall out of the bowl (the famous bowl-over-the-head test).
  3. Then in another bowl stir the butter until frothy and then add the sugar and the yolks one at a time.
  4. When the mass is nice and frothy (you have to stir for 5 minutes) add the semolina, the baking powder, the lemon rind, the quark and the rum and stir. Of course, when children eat, the rum is left out.
  5. At this point, the plums may now be in the dough. Finally, the egg whites are carefully lifted (please do not use the mixer, otherwise the mass will not remain frothy and will collapse).
  6. Put the dough in a buttered casserole dish and push it into the preheated oven at 170 ° C convection on a medium rack for 45-50 minutes.
  7. The finished casserole is served with cream.

The casserole takes a bit longer, but it tastes great.

In addition, you can modify it for every taste, z. B. instead of plums you can also take cherries or you give a pinch of cinnamon to anyone who loves the cinnamon taste so much.

Have fun trying it out and I hope the casserole will taste as good as mine.
