Remove paint on the motorcycle (without sanding / blasting)

Lacquer (parts) e.g. on the motorcycle, e.g. from the frame or in other hard-to-reach places, can best be removed as follows:

  • you drink a rag full of nitro or universal thinner and wrap the affected parts completely with it, then
  • Cover these areas with a (if possible) solution-resistant film (some plastic films do, aluminum foil if necessary) and bind over a tight string or wire, so that the whole is well sealed against evaporation.

As a rule, after approx. 24 hours of exposure, the old paint can then be peeled off relatively easily, peeled off or removed with a spatula.

Incidentally, this method has also been successfully used to remove paint on a saxophone.
