Safety in children's clothing
Avoid risk of strangulation due to children's clothing.
When my "big one" came to kindergarten at that time, I was informed by leaflet about these risks. The note was basically issued to all parents together with the "equipment list" (change clothes, rubber boots, mud pants, etc.).
At the time, I was very grateful for the tip, and the thought of a strangled child hurts me a lot.
- It's about your child being able to hang themselves with a capcord, for example, if they get caught in the upper part of the slide when they slide.
- It's about (was in the media a few years ago) that a little boy with his bike helmet in a "net climbing device" has played, has slipped, and has hung on his helmet.
- The point is that a pacifier is only attached to clothing with a pacifier chain, and not perhaps with a lanyard around the neck.
- The point is that a toddler can get his first teeth with other remedies (such as dry bread crumbs on top of it) and does not need an amber neck necklace. I really like amber, and if someone wants to use its healing effect: please. But I am of the opinion that belongs to a baby neck no chain.
- The point is that hats, scarves and scarves are not knotted. I recently had a talk with a teacher in the nursery school of my Lütten, it was about kerchiefs with a Velcro fastener. These scarves were additionally knotted ... then holds better! When I told her why the scarves might have the Velcro, she had an "AHA experience". I prefer scarves that have a hole where the other end is simply put through (photo).
- Jackets do not need cords, and hats stay on top without tying. The brown cuddly bear jacket, has deadly bobble and is not worn while playing. (Photos)
- Please also note that the toys for hanging (such as binoculars, collection boxes) have an opening security.
With this tip, I do not want to unsettle or frighten anyone. I just want to make you aware of these risks. Sometimes you can not think so badly how a misfortune happens.
