Scale insects fight without concoctions
So much goodness has already been written to combat scale insects. When spraying with mixtures I was always bothered by the run down and dripping from the leaves.
By pure coincidence, I have now discovered a - more pleasant for me - method to kill the lice: adhesive film. When decorating my wall with adhesive ornaments, which were applied to a foil, a strip of foil with the adhesive side fell on a leaf of my orchid, which unfortunately was afflicted with scale insects. When I removed the foil from the sheet, the critters stuck there bomb-solidly. Since the lice are quickly removed - as with the "hair on the legs with wax" remove (grin).
