Secure the door with a bow handle
When we go on vacation and at night I like to secure my cellar door. I thought up the following: I unscrewed the handle from a wooden handle. Close the door and then insert the unscrewed handle through the key and hang over the door handle. Now you can not turn the key anymore and you can not push it out from the other side.

Not everyone has a security lock with lock cylinder, especially the older houses not. My dad bent himself a bit, he was an old tinkerer anyway ;-) But what he bent looked very similar to the hook of a hanger, so I think this is a good idea!
Oh yes, my father was heart disease and I often had to call the KW, but through the cellar door have never come, especially not when my father was on vacation ;-)
