Steam iron: clean the sole

This is my first tip I write, so please have understanding and forbearance. I have an expensive steam ironing station and it happens again and again that I get stuck with the writing on the t-shirt, sweatshirt and the like. Then there are those ugly burn marks on the soleplate.

I start to scrub with a pot sponge. With good luck, the burned is gone, but the sole gets rougher every time and it burns even faster and firmer. I always managed to do it quite well with the plasterstone, but it always stays in the steam outlet holes. Then I had the idea to try it with oven spray. I've ever read a tip, clean with oven spray, and it worked well.

I took a shallow bowl and sprayed it outside the door with plenty of baking-soda spray until there was a centimeter-high of foam in the bowl and then put the iron in overnight. The next day, really only wiped off and also from the steam outlet holes went the burned away like nothing.

My iron looks like new, from below anyway, slides like new and ironing is fun again. I know, to everyone who bugs the oven spray, it's not the most environmentally friendly cleaner, but I do not do it everyday.

I hope to help with my tip, to all those who like ironing and are already angry that something is stuck or burned. Put a photo was not successful.
