The merry spring kids in the sunshine

As promised, the sequel to my series "Children of the Seasons" follows: The Spring Children. I hope you and your children can enjoy this short story as well!

So beautiful is the spring country

Spring, as in any other country, is probably something special and hopeful. The spring breath is fresh, invigorating and invigorating. The spring children are fortunate enough to experience different phases of nature and temperatures in the spring country: from the snow in the mountains and the coolness at the beginning of spring, the beautiful natural awakening in the middle of spring and the cozy warmth at the end of the spring. Really cold is never here! The children know when the first buds will appear on the trees and that they will later turn into beautiful flowers. They know when the many caterpillars become magnificent butterflies. The first breath of the warm wind, green lush grass, flowering trees and meadows, a palette of vegetables and fruits and the colorful variety of flowers make them happy and in love with their beautiful land of eternal spring.

That's the spring kids

The spring children are very lively and full of emotions. They also have a unique look: they naturally have a rich lavender hair color. The dynamic, emerald green eyes stand out as well. The boys wear colorful, comfortable dungarees and shirts, the spring girls have cute, multi-colored dresses. On their heads, the young ladies have a flower wreath and a braid from their long hair.

The March

In March, all spring children start to clear out, care for and prepare for the garden season with their parents and relatives. Ain and his brother had to ask his friends to help them with their garden. The brothers live together in a small house, which they inherited from their parents. The garden with many big trees as well as bushes and a big stable for cows and horses belong to the inherited possession of the brothers. The area is huge, so the brothers need help every year to get everything ready. Ain is a cowherd, just like his father. A cowherd is a valued profession in the spring country, as cows provide the children with fresh, vitamin-rich and healthy milk. The cowherd looks after his animals with love. The boy knows since childhood that he would choose the same path as his father, because he always liked cows and wanted to take care of them. The older brother, Aviv, is an animal painter. He likes to paint horses. He finds horses so majestic and free. Although all the animals and birds in Springland are much larger than humans, the brothers still manage to find contact and understanding with their fosterlings.

In March, all spring children go to their academies. Springland has two different academies: an art academy for children who want to think creatively or create something creative, and an academy for exact sciences, for children who are rather mathematically talented and do calculations or do research. Ain and Aviv both go to the art academy. This academy is the right place for both boys to develop their talents and realize their ideas. Especially in the first month of spring, she and the other children can apply their talents the most, since in March at the Academy of Art the exhibition? The beauties of nature? takes place. All Spring Academy graduates can show different things in this exhibition: paintings, herbariums, collections of natural rarities, photos, wood sculptures with beautiful ornamentation or cut decorations. The children do everything themselves. Some works are sold, others find their place in the Museum of the Academy or are intended as gifts for the favorite teachers. From the proceeds of the sold creations, the spring children buy fodder for wild animals of the spring land and hand it over to conservationists. Ain and Aviv are also present at this exhibition. At the same time you find the measure exciting and important for specific purposes. Aviv presents wooden eagle to the exhibition. Every little pattern on this eagle engraved the boy himself for hours. Ain receives an award for his admirable creation. The wooden eagle he gives away to his favorite art teacher, who was always a role model for him.

The April

The Easter Madness starts in April. The little inhabitants of the spring country spend all their free time decorating their cottages. Easter is the big festival for children and adults. Colorful figures of bunnies, butterflies, sheep, little birds, flowers and eggs beautify every home. In Springland open for the first of April special Easter shops, where spring children get for their own written or read poems, their songs sung, invented jokes or stories, Easter decorations. All come back with full bags of colorful Easter items, not just for their cottages, but also for their gardens.

The Spring Brothers love Easter so much. They even saw out wooden Easter figures themselves, color them and give them to their friends. Ain and Aviv also like to decorate their own house. Every corner in the house and every bush in the garden is adorned with cute Easter figurines. As the Easter days fall on the 21st and 22nd of April this year, the boys start baking their traditional bread of yeast dough early in the morning on April 20th. The baking of Easter bread lasts all day, because the dough itself requires a long preparation. In the afternoon of the same day they also cook a lot of eggs and after they get cold, they paint the eggs with all sorts of rainbow colors.

On the 21st of April, the easterly friend, eagerly awaited by all the children, comes to the spring country. He comes every spring for the first Easter day and hides for all the gifts in the gardens. His name is Ferdinand. Ferdinand is a huge hare. He is very clumsy and cute. The Spring Children love Ferdinand and bake many delicious things to his visit to host him. The hare visits every family and hugs every child with his big soft hands. As gifts, Ferdinand brings small chocolate bunnies, chocolate chocolates and eggs, colorful children's craft kits and aqua colors, colored backpacks, inline skates and skateboards. His presents are eagerly awaited by the children.

On the morning of the first Easter day, the rabbit knocks on every door and sits down with his little friends. They bring him his Easter biscuits and painted eggs. He is so happy and thankful. Ferdinand likes to hear the stories of all children. The spring kids love his big, friendly eyes. After the rabbit's visit, all children run into their gardens and look for their presents with much joy. Afterwards, they celebrate Easter with their families and receive the other small gifts from their parents and relatives. The next Easter day, the children visit their friends and offer their homemade delicacies. The Easter Bread of Ain and Aviv has found much popularity with all their friends. The brothers invite their guests to the small, beautifully decorated table. You eat the bread to the last crumb, play 'hens in the pit', 'egg run? and? egg-turning? together and sing their favorite songs in the choir.

Gradually, the season of the new harvest begins: as early as March comes first spinach and rhubarb, at the end of April, asparagus is available throughout the spring country and in May, the gardens are already full of sweet strawberries and other different fresh vegetables such as kohlrabi, leek, mushrooms, Radishes, new potatoes, lettuce, spring onions, cabbage and cauliflower. May is the month of the best dishes that are so rich in vitamins and made from crisp and ripe ingredients that are brought fresh from a garden to the table every day and then cooked in a pot or pan. Spring parents and grandparents are constantly bringing new recipes to their children. They always try new combinations of the seasonal yield. They mix what has never been mixed before. The children come from their academies and pick those vegetables in their gardens, which they currently enjoy. Then they begin to cook and sizzle their meal together with the adults. The brothers make their own food with maximum creativity. The best dish they invented were unpeeled sweet potatoes in a deep bowl of sprigs of rosemary, garlic cloves, salt and a pinch of spice - roasted to golden crust in olive oil with fresh dill and chives on top, crispy baked duck in the oven and a small mixed one Salad. The dish is so tasty that Ain and Aviv add it to her cookbook. Last May they started the recipe book and decided to constantly invent new recipes.

May

The last month of spring is always very warm outside. The spring children love the pleasant warmth. Teaching in the academies is not so exhausting anymore, so children can afford more free time. They go to the green meadows and throw their kites with the help of the warm wind. In the meadow Ain meets a girl from the second academy. He knows her from his neighborhood, but the boy is always too shy to address it. The girl's name is Jasmine and she has a beautiful kite with golden unicorns. It laughs so beautifully, as if it has sunshine and warmth in it. Ain knows that this girl is his destiny. He tells his brother that he will definitely marry her sometime in the future. Later the boy will really keep his word.

Kites for every taste can be found at the flea market with the funny name "Puzzelei? to get. The flea market takes place every year at the same time. Each kite has extra stickers in the set. These stickers with different figures from cartoons sticks each child to where it wants. At this flea market, spring children often find rare, rare things as many sellers are elderly. It is also a kind of adventure for the kids to find something strange and interesting in this market. Then they collect their found treasures in a chest at home.

Ain and his brother are looking for older kite models this year. Ain finds his kite after an hour of intense search. The model is bright orange and has a nice picture of a dragonfly on it. Aviv finds his model much faster, because he does not make much of the color, but speculates on a specific image. He wants the image of a horse on his kite.

In the evening the children ride wild, gigantic but nevertheless dear horses. The horses lean towards the little ones and let themselves be stroked first. Afterwards they carry them in full gallop through the meadows. That's so much fun. When there are many stars in the sky in the evening, the spring children call their big birds out of the gardens and fly high and free, almost close to the stars. The birds are very smart and know exactly how to give the children the feeling of security and to be afraid. The spring kids are happy. They enjoy their May.

When spring comes to an end

When spring comes to an end, all spring families freeze their vegetables and fruits in large quantities in spacious freezers. This method preserves everything in its best freshness. The supplies are enough each time for the beginning of the next spring so that no one needs to suffer hardship. On the last day of May, the inhabitants and their domestic animals of the spring land sink in their sleep, so that they can get up again with much energy next year.
