Ants in the house - which really helps!

Ants are useful, but they have no business in the house. So you can gJust stop the animals from coming in:

  1. Find out where they have their entrance.
  2. Spread a 10 cm wide strip around the entrance generously with melted cocoa butter.

Cocoa butter is odorless, has a very high melting point, is completely non-toxic and the animals do not run over fat! No idea why, but they do not do it. You could also use oil, but that will eventually spoil and become sticky in an unpleasant way.

The only downside, suspended particles and dirt remain hanging on the grease layer, and in unfavorable places there is a risk of slipping. However, this is obsolete at the latest when the ants have sought another outlet.

I made a chocolaterie and the whole door frame with cocoa butter, after that not a single ant entered my more production.

I also struck a crack in the silicone and the ants did not come out there anymore. (However, at some point a few inches later, they made a new pass, so I dug in the entire fugue, since then it's been quiet.)

I do not understand with the best will, why this "means" is not known! Conservationists who implement anthills also smear themselves with grease so the ants will not bother them.
