Baked apple pie - a cake with whole apples
ingredients
For the cake:
- 250 g flour
- 1 egg
- 100 g of sugar
- 150 g butter
- 1/2 pck of baking powder
- 50 g raisins
- 2 tbsp rum
- 12 small sour apples (for example Boskop)
For the casting:
- 1 bag of pudding powder (vanilla)
- 725 g of cream
- 1 pck of vanilla sugar
- 125 g of sugar
preparation
- Quickly knead butter, sugar, flour, egg, baking powder into a smooth dough. Put the part in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Wash raisins and let them steep with 2 tbsp rum.
- Wash apples and core with an apple cutter.
- Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a circle (Ø approx. 30 cm) and lay out the greased springform (Ø 26 cm). Press the edge about 3 cm.
- Put the apples in the springform pan and fill with the rum raisins.
- Smooth the custard powder with 125 g cream until smooth.
- Boil the remaining cream with sugar and vanilla sugar and stir in the mixed custard powder. Boil everything again and distribute over the apples.
- Bake the cake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 degrees, circulating air: 160 degrees, gas stove: level 3) for approx. 1 1/4 hours.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for approx. 24 hours in the mold.
