Bread cut: no more too small slices

So far, I have fresh bread, which I freeze slice by slice, always cut to the end. Often it annoyed me that the discs are naturally getting smaller towards the end and then only the? Knäppchen? was left over, which many like to eat, but we do not and I do not want to freeze for reasons of space.

Now I cut the bread only to the point where it gives normal sized slices, and finish the slicing when the slices are too small.

The big tail, here called Knäppchen, I cut off completely and it serves as a roll: horizontally rather than vertically cut!

Maybe you can see it in the photo with the cut ends on it.
