Cat box for outdoors: homemade and cheap

Instead of a bought cat house, here is a savings option: and our cat prefers it!

A small moving box (DIY store about 2, - to 4, -) and two or three "slices" (2mm thick) insulation material from Styrofoam plus packing tape:

Wrap the parade crate around with styrofoam surfaces, simply wrapping around once with parcel tape and wrapping around twice. Particularly important is the insulation from below, - in my case it was a geschnorrte thick insulating layer of the renovation next door - but certainly goes above Styrofoam, better two layers in this case.

Now put a heavy serving of straw in the box, an old towel over it, and a hole through cardboard and polystyrene cut in a short side. Finished is the well insulated wintering box for outdoor cats.

From the top of the Styporor best not stick to the box, but only with tape, tape, etc. attach relatively loosely, so you can always open from above, the box again from the top to occasionally new straw or even a new cuddly eco. to spend.

After building the box, it took 30 seconds and our cat changed from the purchased fur house variant to the box home-made!
